Tea time is when I step away from my hectic life and come back down to earth.
Life gets out of control at times. When it does, its the perfect time to sit down and ground yourself with a cup of tea. I think William Ewart Gladstone said it best:
If you are cold, tea will warm you; if you are too heated, it will cool you; If you are depressed, it will cheer you; If you are excited, it will calm you.
No matter your mood tea seems suited to almost any situation and believe it or not there is some sound science behind it all found in the chemical theanine. Any ardent tea drinker can attest that there is nothing better to calm you back down to earth than a good cup of tea.
A family emergency this past week has found me drinking my way through a bag of 2018 Smoove Cacoa from white2tea. I honestly don’t know if I would have made it this week with out it.
With each sip of Smoove Cacoa’s deep dank richness I was transported back to hiking the forests of the Pacific Northwest and the peace I always found there. It’s pronounced cocoa notes only added to my enjoyment as they were incredibly sweet and not at all bitter especially towards the end of my gong-fu sessions.
My love and appreciate pu’erh is still relatively new and has taken some time to develop. Not knowing how to brew them properly, my first experience resulted in a very fishy cup. Since then, now that I know about rinsing and short brew times I’ve come to love this earthy cup for its grounding effects. When ever I’m feeling the pressures of life bearing down, its pu’er time.
Tea Art – Smoove Cocoa Series
Feeling scattered this week, it was reflected in my art as everything was heavily blocked and I struggled to bring some cohesiveness to it all. As you can see my mood was heavily reflected in my art.
In the end I think it works. And even if it doesn’t, I enjoyed my sessions drinking white2tea’s 2018 Smoove Cocoa and recommend it highly. Anyone new to pu’erh would find this a great place to start.
Well that’s it for this session. Join me next week for a 2019 Spring Tea Session with Seven Cups Da Fo Long Jing and the art it inspires.
